Teeth Whitener – The Options

Tobacco, coffee, tea, and candies can be your day to day buddies. However, as much as you love them, they can take away your pearly white teeth. With that, you can lose your confident smile too. But, it’s not too late yet. There are still various ways that you can do to help including with teeth whitener.

There are a lot of options to choose from when it comes to teeth whitening. It can be procedures that will provide you results in a flash or treatments that require your patience. There are choices that are affordable enough but there are some that involve hundreds to thousands of dollars.

To help you get the right choice for you, here are the most common procedures used for a teeth whitener:

• Brush and floss. It is important for you to brush and floss in a regular manner to help reduce the stains on your teeth. Though brushing and flossing does not help whiten your teeth, they can at least prevent stains from building up.

• Whitening toothpastes. You can also try to use whitening toothpastes in replacement for the regular toothpaste you are using to help your teeth whiten. However, be extra cautious in choosing whitening toothpaste as there are some that can damage the teeth and even make them sensitive.

• Dental cleanings. Getting regular professional dental cleanings will help you remove the stains brought by tobacco and other foods to your teeth.

• Whitening procedures. You can bleach your teeth for a pearly white finish in two ways these days. This can be in the form of in-office and at-home treatments. The in-office treatments usually use modern technology to activate the bleach applied to each tooth. This makes the teeth whitener faster, commonly 30 to 60 minutes. These can cost hundreds. On the other hand, a much cheaper option is the at-home treatments which sometimes involve a mouth guard with bleaching agent worn for two hours each day. The results are slower to take effect, which usually takes two weeks to be seen.

• Veneers. These are customized shells that are placed on the teeth. Getting them for your teeth will assure the best results. However, this is the most expensive treatment to date.
